Meet your zen zone instructor- amy thomas

Amy Thomas has made her home in Brookville for the past 23 years.  Amy was born in Pittsburgh and lived in Jupiter, FL as well as Oak Brook, IL all before graduating high school.  After moving around so much throughout her childhood, she wanted to settle in a small town to raise a family.  She lives with her husband, Chad Thomas, and two sons, Ian and Jack Pete.  Amy has her B.A. in Psychology from Denison University and her M.S. Ed in School Counseling from Duquesne University. Over the past two decades, Clarion Area School District was her second home where she taught kindergarten and recently finished her educational career as their elementary school counselor.

Amy’s passion lies in the well-being of others.  Her yoga journey began when she was going through an emotionally difficult time in her life.  She wants others to know that yoga is for EVERYONE!  “It is not the movements that define yoga.  Yoga is the quieting of the disturbances of the mind. When we quiet the mind and get rid of the chatter then we have experienced YOGA”, expresses Amy.

Outside of yoga, her favorite pastime is being outdoors in the sunshine.  You can find her swimming, walking, taking exercise classes at the YMCA, attending concerts, visiting breweries, and adventuring with her husband and sons.
